Besides just enjoying the process of writing and creating, my goal for publishing these and upcoming books is to spread these helpful life strategies to young children while they are still forming their beliefs about the world and their lives.
Why did you write these books? Is there any “back story” that inspired you to write?
I kept thinking, if I had known earlier what I know now, I can only imagine how different my life would be. I’ve always been interested in psychology and helping others, especially children. (Though I had previously thought I’d focus on teenagers. Maybe that will come later.) All of my self education into self-help, motivation, human psychology, relationships and NLP, or neuro-linguistic programing — which is an approach to psychology based on the belief in a connection between the neurological processes, language and behavioral patterns that have been learned through experience and can be organized to achieve specific goals in life. This education has made me think about teaching my children life strategies that will help them live amazing lives. I thought all children should be taught this.
What makes you qualified?
First, I’m a mom to two wonderfully, amazing children with whom I’ve been working on these strategies from early on. Second, I practice these strategies myself. Third, I am a certified strategic interventionist through Robbins-Madanes Coach Training — a program taught by Anthony Robbins and Cloe Madanes. I’ve also been through Anthony Robbins’ Leadership program. I’ve begun training in NLP, which I will finish as time away from my children permits. My husband who also has all these certifications plus is a Master Neuro-strategist in NLP gives me added input.
